Historical Background
Greyton is close to the oldest mission station in South Africa. It was founded in 1738 by the Moravian Church, called Genadendal (which means the village of grace), which boasts great historical buildings and is definitely worth a visit.
Trails and Walks
The Greyton Conservation Society has introduced and marked walking parks for the not so fit, and hiking trails for the more energetic, within the manage reserve of Greyton. Some spectacular views can be enjoyed: the bird life changes from mountain habits to rivers surroundings, and the garden lakes openness of the village and the fibs produces magnificent flowers at all times of the year at different altitudes.

There are exceptional birding opportunities in Greyton, especially the endangered Blue Crane.

Every Saturday at 10h00am, Greyton is proud to present its wares at a morning market on the village green.
This is a special change to browse and acquire some delectable homemade produces as well as arts and crafts.
